How we support K-12 STEM education

The SAMPE Foundation runs three core programs designed to put resources, recognition, and curriculum directly into K-12 classrooms around the world.

Dahlgren Award
The William Dahlgren Award recognizes outstanding K-12 teachers for inspiring students in math, science, and engineering fields — particularly plastics and entrepreneurship. Prize: $500.

Special Awards Program
The Foundation is open to suggestions for programs and projects that will positively impact K-12 STEM learning around the world. Novel ideas welcome. Open applications, no deadline.

High School STEM Program
The Foundation works with SAMPE Professional and Student Chapters to identify candidate high schools with strong STEM programs. Launched 2024. Free textbook and YouTube videos included.

Have an idea for a new program?

The Foundation is open to suggestions from any SAMPE chapter or member. Submit a one-page summary to the board of directors via the standing chair.
